I frequently get men pressuring me to forgo condoms. One of the excuses is “I’m in the military and they test us.”

Is that true? How regular is the testing?

No. The military does not regularly test for STDs unless the soldier asks for medical treatment and complains of STD symptoms.

The entrance test will screen for serious ones like HIV, but that’s only done once, and it doesn’t screen for all STDs.

As a sample size of one: I spent 21 years in the military and don’t recall ever being tested for any STD besides HIV. HIV is a yearly test for everyone. Maybe others had different experiences.

I agree with others though in that if you want to use a condom, they should respect that.

Anyone pressuring to forgo a condom is not someone worth being with imo.

They’re basically saying their pleasure is more important than your safety.
