I mean I’m new here and i can’t see a lot of stuff like on reddit
Yes, but Lemmy hasn’t blocked me yet because of some weird comment. Reddit did it again yesterday. I know I should delete my Reddit account but…
Yes, chocolate for example.
you gotta subscribe to a LOT of communities to get a somewhat active feed
I just browse all communities, and block the ones I don’t want to see.
On many instances too. You’ll have to get to know what they’re niches and userbase is like
Reddit had many years of growth. Lemmy is more like what Reddit started as.
It’s one of the better Reddit alternatives.
I mean I’m new here
You have already become part of the solution!
Trade off.
Less nichey and less specific, but more community, you run into the same people multiple places.
What are you looking for?
to be honest I’m looking for communities like nosleep etc. Maybe they exist because I didn’t figure out how it works yet
Yeah, that would be great. Unfortunately I havent found one yet, and I’m no writer.
Ooh, I’d love something like this too. There’s a creepypasta community but it doesn’t have frequent posts unfortunately.
Do you use anything else than lemmy and Reddit?
No, not currently. I’ve pretty much been getting by with Lemmy and substituting with Reddit where needed. Believe it or not, Lemmy has grown a lot within the past year or two. I think it will eventually get to a decent spot but that may take a while longer.
Lemmy is the most active reddit alternative that I’m aware of.
there are dozens of us.
Yeah, Piefed.
*Pylova because PieFed is
shitThanks for helping promote it

democracy and taxes
Liberal democracy is a vile anti-democratic institution (and I don’t necessarily even think that direct democracy is the best or only method of horizontal, anti-authoritarian decision making without extra information; i.e. upholding democracy as the be-all end-all of “all power to all the people” is itself a lack of imagination). Almost every imperialist power today is a liberal-democratic state. Liberal democracy is a resounding success at what it is designed to do, which is oppress the proletariat and entrench capitalist hegemony while giving the superficial appearance of proletarian representation to gullible liberals.
And no actually, proletarians should not be paying a single goddamn fucking penny to capitalists or their demonic governments as long as they use our money to destroy us, doom our ecology, and just barely maintain the social services or infrastructure statists claim that these institutions are supposed to provide, which incidentally, half the bourgeoisie doesn’t even want their governments to even give the workers enough crumbs off the table to buy proletarians’ compliance!
Something you Tankies fail to realize is that your rabid and biggoted craziness actually pushes people further towards liberalism.

It’s hilarious watching Autocratists and Authoritarianists lecture others about living in subservience.
And when have I ever supported authoritarian projects or autocracy? You just don’t like being called out as the liberal you are.
im not sure about lemmys interface but with niche communities that are active but real light. like no posts for weeks. well anyway I finally realized I could, at least with piefed, click this bell icon and get a notice for every post. Its pretty awesome for low post communities but of course anything with decent traction it would be a nightmare to turn on.
The amount of content on here is less plentiful, so browsing all and blocking the communities you don’t like has been how I curated my feed. If a community doesn’t exist you can always make one (easier said than done I know).
What are you into?
The fediverse isn’t as addictive or algorithmic as legacy corporate social media, but I follow stuff that I’m interest and see new things everyday.
I see a good amount of stuff here. Sorting by New and even just looking at Local shows plenty. (Once you get your language option set, like several others have already said).
I mean, it’s quite a lot quieter overall than reddit. Especially on niche topics. But I think that’s okay. Quality over quantity. And IMO it’s still busy enough to spend your time if you cast your topic net wider. Plus, at least here you don’t have to put up with reddit’s shitty policies and constant monetizing/farming user data.
Some posts may be not visible for you because you did not choose any language(s) in your settings. I suggest to not just look for local communities (the ones created on https://lemmy.world/), there are plenty on other servers.
No. you have to create the stuff you want to see here.
Probably you can not see much including my other post, as a result of no chosen language(s) in your settings. Look at this hint and not just for local communities (the ones created on https://lemmy.world/), there are plenty on other servers.
It is still small but oddsrabbit
is worth it to be here?
The fediverse is my favorite social media. It does have fewer daily active users than many others, but I encounter more real people and fewer bots than many others. If there’s not as much stuff here as you were hoping, there’s a broader fediverse that we are connected with that may interest you, like pixelfed (like instagram) and loops (like TikTok) and mastodon (like twitter) that you can follow from piefed or mbin, while still having a similar ui to lemmy. Personably, I kind of like that I run out of posts to browse and have to go do something else.
I like it better here, sure its not as populated but once you find a few good communities and join in, it can be a lot of fun
If you can tolerate ideological debates
