I replied to someone saying that the USSR defeated the Nazis saying that it was a group effort. Got into an argument and called a Nazi repeatedly because “I was mad that the USSR defeated the Nazis and hated them for it” which is ridiculous. This isn’t the first time that’s happened on Lemmy. What’s up with that?

Which countries did the other pacts agree on invading? None? Probably the reason you don’t hear about the other deals. They were obviously meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

A non aggression pact is avoiding war, not joining a side, in the majority of cases.

Unless the pact includes defining who they can invade without stepping each other’s toes like the USSR and Germany.

the pact includes [not] stepping each other’s toes

Hm… like some sort of agreement to… avoid… aggression. I wonder what we could call that.

What even is your point? Hitler obviously did not honor most of the pacts, so what is there to talk about them? You treat this like some kind of sick gotcha, which it isn’t?

Well the “non-aggression pact” was the only one that actually saw the start of WWII when the Soviet Union and Germany jointly invaded Poland and split the territory between the two. If Hitler hadn’t gotten greedy and turned on the Soviets, everything would have turned out differently.
