What you gain throug these “5 minutes” is the illusion of control. You repeat a manual task over and over just to tell yourself that this changes something. You don’t have the choice not to pay. You don’t have more control over what you pay.

I check my account movements every months. It really only takes five minutes. If there was a mistake, I’ll have the bank to check it or call the company myself. You have to do that too, in addition to doing the bills yourself.

That’s the “free” market for you. God forbid that the consumer can make an informed decision on where to buy.

TrekStor is an old Aldi brand form the 2000s, if I remember correctly. So you probably live in Europe. That means that the device most likely doesn’t work anymore since around 2008. European broadcasters switched from DVB-T to DVB-T2 back then. I don’t know whether you can recieve anything with it today, I had to upgrade to a news set at that point in time.

I think you should take some history lessons. Being Jewish wasn’t a religious definition for the Nazis, we’re not talking about the Spanish Inquisition here. And it’s not like Catholics were more (or less) antisemitic than Protestants.

There was a concentration camp near my hometown in Germany. It was a “work camp” not a “destruction camp”, which just meant they had no gas chambers and people were murdered through extremely hard labour in a quarry. The museum there has a collection of letters that show the interactions between ordinary people and the camp authorities. As far as I remember they had the following conversations on display:

• people asking for forced labourers for their private projects
• camp authorities reprimanding the public not to leave potato skins and other leftover food out when prisoners were marched through town
• people compalining about the stench, thick, oily smoke, as well as blood and bits of bone in the creek

People saw a lot and people talked. Sometimes the Nazis even accidentally spread rumours about atrocities themselves: You probably heard of the story that human fat of murdered Jews was used as soap. Well, this was only a small scale project with about 100kg produced and used localy in an institute of anatomy. It seems like the Nazis themselves exaggerated this because it was useful to intimidate prisoners or made for a good joke among guards. Coincidentally this resembled anti-German propaganda the British had used in WWI. So when British intelligence got reports about this, they started questioning whether the news they recieved about the holocaust were true at all, slowing down their efforts on this matter.

I can see that, but honestly, Kuon is just slow and clunky. Deliberately, yes, but way past the point where it can be enjoyed by anyone but the most hardcore fans. The developers overdid it. It’s one of the main reason why the game wasn’t well recieved. To avoid combat you have to play the game the slowest way possible, while the movement is already slow to begin with. At some point the decisions you make in the game are less driven by aspects of the game’s world, but by how much of your own time you want to invest.

When I played it back in the day, I really wanted to like it but just couldn’t, because I felt like the game tried its best to waste my time.

The Siren games are really unique in my opinion. There was such a lot of effort put into the environment alone that always makes me come back. I never finished one though.

The only games that felt a bit similar to me were the Project Zero games. I even like them a bit more because you are much more able to take the environments in.

Yeah, when you look at it, it’s not very good craftsmanship. You can see the traces of the rotating tools. Since it doesn’t look bad overall, that’s a sign of someone not really putting a lot of effort in it. The creator could, but didn’t really want to.

For that price, it has a really, really bad surface. You can see the marks of the rotating tools.

Isn’t “artisan” supposed to mean “made by an artisan” and not “mass produced trash”?

I think Remedy always manages to make their games just slightly too long to be completely enjoyable. It’s sill a great game, but the DLCs felt a bit dry to me.
